The Forum exists to help UK leaders gain insight and agency on the progress of negotiations and announcements at COP30 whilst it is underway in Belem, Brazil. By hosting this event in London during the second week of COP30, we will inform leaders on the key areas of debate and direct them towards a call to action (usually signing an open letter) that will ensure that business leader voices from around the world are heard loud and clear in the final stages of the negotiations. It also offers the opportunity to experience high quality networking that often only happens at London Climate Action Week or COP summits.

The event is intended for c-suite, senior leaders and decision-makers working across a diverse array of organisation sizes and industries (including public, private or third sector) – particularly those with an interest in climate action, sustainability and net-zero.

We have in-person capacity for up to 300 attendees.

We are gauging the initial volume of interest in attending this event in-person.

Ultimately, we want this event be as inclusive and impactful as possible, and we are exploring the practicalities of being able to serve all audience needs.

No, the Forum is free to attend.

The event will initially be open for registrations of interest so that we can gauge demand for in-person attendance. If demand for in-person tickets exceeds our venue capacity, then the event partners will work together to prioritise registrants based upon the criteria it is intended for – i.e. c-suite, senior leadership and decision makers working across a diverse array of organisation sizes and industries – with an interest in climate action, sustainability and net-zero.

This event is being organised by edie, BBC and Planet Mark and will be hosted at BBC Broadcasting House.

The event organisers have committed to running this as a non-profit event and are sharing the financial and labour costs of hosting from within our own budgets in order to ensure that it can be as accessible as possible for leaders from organisations of all sizes and industries.

No, for leaders wishing to directly engage within COP30 negotiations and COP-related activities, this event will not replace all of the opportunities that may emerge from being on the ground in Belem. However, due to constraints on time and resources, many leaders are unable to attend COP events in-person. Plus, many who do attend only do so for part of the two-week summit, rather than the duration.

It seems a shame for UK leaders who happen to not be in Belem during the critical final stages of negotiations to feel disconnected and unable to contribute. So, this event offers a critical opportunity during the second week of COP30 for UK leaders to understand the key issues being debated, and empower them to join together in taking action through a collective open letter statement of support – something that has historically happened every year but often with less planning and advanced coordination.
