Kristin Hughes is Global Head of Sustainability at Diageo. Kristin leads the global sustainability team on the delivery of Diageo’s overarching sustainability strategy, Grain to Glass, with a focus on decarbonisation, water, nature, and raw materials across the global value chain.
Kristin has a law degree from American University, Washington College of Law and over twenty-five years’ experience working in businesses, governments and international organisations. She has driven complex global programmes in a number of industries, including the built environment, packaging and food and beverage.
Prior to joining Diageo in 2023, Kristin spent five years at the World Economic Forum where she oversaw the organisation’s circular economy platform and was recognised as a senior leader, representing the Centre for Nature and Climate on the Forum’s Executive Committee. During her time with the Forum, Kristin was also involved in designing the Global Plastic Action Partnership which aims to address plastic pollution. So far, the partnership has supported over fifteen countries in their efforts to create a circular economy for plastics.
