Financing the transformation: How to align sustainability reporting with investor needs

The recent surge of interest from the investment community in environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors shows no signs of abating. This workshop, starting with a panel discussion of senior financial professionals followed by an interactive roundtable exercise, will explore the biggest drivers, challenges and opportunities that businesses face when it comes to bridging the sustainable finance gap. From understanding climate-related financial impacts and establishing the ESG factors that are material for your business; through to gathering and presenting data in a way that meets investor needs – the session will equip delegates with the information, insight and inspiration they need to accelerate the flow of capital towards a sustainable future.

Panel discussion points:

  • The latest updates and developments in the world of sustainable investing
  • Real-life examples of sustainable investing in practice
  • Advice for sustainability professionals looking to unlock sustainable investment opportunities
  • Overcoming the standardisation problem: breaking down exactly what investors want to see
  • What should businesses be reporting and how they should report it
  • Leveraging the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

Roundtable discussion points:

  1. What do you see as the biggest challenges when it comes to unlocking more investment in sustainable business?
  2. How can tools like the TCFD and Natural Capital Accounting be used to unlock greater sustainable investment opportunities?
  3. How can sustainability professionals effectively establish the ESG factors that are material for their business?
