Almond is a new economic model and user application that rewards people for becoming more responsible consumers. People can scan unique Almond codes hidden on accredited products using the free Almond app to gain access to detailed supply chain and product information whilst unlocking ‘Almond Coins’ they can then redeem for cash or periodically convert into 'Almond Share'. To achieve this Almond uses a combination of distributed ledger technology (DLT), internet of things (IoT) coding and smart contracts. Almond builds trust between brands and consumers through product transparency; it rewards consumer loyalty and provides brands with valuable ‘point of consumption’ data.

The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is a globally influential Institute developing leadership and solutions for a sustainable economy. Our Rewiring the Economy framework shows how the economy can be ‘rewired’, through focused collaboration between business, government and finance institutions, to deliver positive outcomes for people and environment in pursuit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For over three decades we have built individual and organisational leadership capacity and capabilities, and created industry-leading collaborations, to catalyse change and accelerate the path to a sustainable economy. Our Rewiring Leadership framework sets out our model for the leadership needed to achieve this. Our interdisciplinary research engagement builds the evidence base for practical action, through a focus on six cross-cutting themes critical to the delivery of the SDGs: sustainable finance, economic innovation, inclusive development, natural capital, future cities and leadership.

Co-creation is both our working philosophy and a technique to help build purposeful brands. Through our work we bring together those people most invested in the success of a brand purpose project to help design the outcome. This means we co-create with customers, senior management, partners, stakeholders. We believe that diversity is the source of both creativity and robust strategy. Through engaging large, mixed groups we produce work that is built on insight, is distinctive and is owned by people across the business.

Flanked by the misty blanket of Sri Lanka’s southern Ussangoda plains and the foamy waters of the sea, Ravana Garden aims to be the number one sustainable boutique hotel in the world. Opening in December 2018, every aspect of this nine-suite pioneer is not just environmentally friendly, it’s environmentally nurturing. Not one tree was cut down during its construction and natural ventilation, solar power, paperless operations and a stringent single-use plastic policy only begin to hint at the lengths Ravana Garden goes to in its ambitious green quest. The on-site organic garden provides the kitchen with an array of vegetables, all grown using biodynamic/organic farming methods. And produce not grown on-site is predominantly organic and biodegradable, bought from local farmers and businesses.
