Louise Harman is a Partner at law firm Bates Wells, committed to helping clients make a positive social and environmental change. Her expertise spans governance, structuring, commercial, impact investing, social investment, and international development finance. She co-leads on Bates Wells Purpose & Impact strategy and supported bringing the B Corp movement to the UK by helping with the design of the B Corp legal requirements in the UK, which are used by nearly 2000 businesses. She also is a trustee of B Lab UK.
Louise increasingly works with commercial organisations looking to embed purpose in their governance and practice. Typically these organisations are seeking to create innovative solutions to the climate crisis and protection of our natural environment. Louise has also been involved in a number of key policy developments in this area, including advising the Government Inclusive Economy Unit on the Mission Led Business Review.
