Rachael is Director of Sustainability at RSSB, the not-for-profit independent body responsible for managing safety and operations standards across the UK rail network. RSSB's cross-industry sustainability framework, the Sustainable Rail Blueprint, won the ESG Strategy of the Year Award at the 2025 edie awards.
Rachael leads RSSB's work supporting the rail industry in tackling several key sustainability challenges, including emissions mitigation and climate change preparedness.
Rachael previously led sustainability at Rolls-Royce plc. She has extensive experience in corporate sustainability across transport and energy—particularly in climate adaptation and decarbonisation, human rights, and corporate reporting.
Rachael is a chartered environmentalist and a member of both the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. She also holds an MA Honours degree in sustainable development from the University of St Andrews.
