Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP—the world’s largest independent environmental disclosure platform—is advancing a new era of Earth-positive economics, where sustainability drives value creation. With a background spanning investment banking, diplomacy, capital markets, authorship, and entrepreneurship, Sherry champions environmental data as central to business performance and strategic decision-making.

Earth-positive economics reframes environmental health not as a limit to growth, but as essential to long-term prosperity. Sherry’s work places her at the forefront of global conversations on sustainable finance, FinTech, trade, and data policy. She is also the author of Navigating Sustainability Data: How Organizations Can Use ESG Data to Secure Their Future.

Sherry’s career across finance, trade, and sustainability gives her a unique lens on how markets, value, and impact align. She founded the Future of Sustainable Data Alliance (FoSDA) at Davos in 2020, helping define the role of data in driving sustainable investment and operations.

Before joining CDP, she held senior roles including SVP of Public Policy at Mastercard and Chief Industry & Government Affairs Officer at the London Stock Exchange Group. She now serves as a Founding Member of The Washington Post Intelligence Energy and Climate Council and on the Global Advisory Council of the GX Acceleration Agency.

Sherry has also advised Hong Kong’s Cyberport, APEC’s Sustainable Finance Development Network, and sat on the boards of Sondrel Limited and the University of Nottingham. Through her leadership, she is redefining how data and sustainability shape the global economy.
