Dr Christopher Stewart, Global head, sustainability impact, ofi (Olam Food Ingredients)
Originally trained as a rainforest ecologist, he has over 25 years experience working with sustainable agriculture, forestry and conservation. In 2013 he joined Olam Group in Africa to lead the sustainable development and certification of its businesses in Gabon, resulting in the world’s first independently verified climate-positive palm plantations. In 2016 he moved to lead Olam’s global sustainability team, where he guided the development of AtSource, the award-winning sustainable sourcing solution, and more recently worked with ofi’s cocoa, coffee, nuts, spices and dairy businesses to launch ofi’s comprehensive sustainability strategy, Choices for Change. Today, ofi’s sustainability teams aim to support a million farmers by 2030 in sustainability programmes, to achieve measurable positive livelihood outcomes, empower rural communities to thrive, reduce climate impact and regenerate the living world that supports both the farmers and ofi’s supply chains.
