John Steele – Operations Lead, Exchange and Change (DMO)
John Steele is Operations Lead at Exchange For Change, the Deposit Return Scheme Delivery Management Organisation for the UK. He leads the design and implementation of the scheme for key stakeholder groups, including retailers, producers, hospitality operators and wholesalers, ensuring all elements of the supply chain is operationally ready ahead of the October 2027 launch.
John brings directly relevant experience to Exchange For Change, having previously led C&C Group Ltd's Deposit Return Scheme project, working with cross-industry teams, the scheme administrator and the Scottish Government. That hands-on experience of shaping DRS and industry readiness from the brand, supplier and wholesaler side gives John a distinctive perspective as he now supports deliver the scheme for Exchange For Change.
With over 20 years in FMCG across sales, marketing and commercial leadership, John has held senior roles with major brands and retailers across GB and internationally.
