Ben has over 25 years’ experience in the outsourcing industry (Andersen, BT, Serco, Capita, JLL). He has held a number of senior roles in strategy, business development, organisational design & change and IT transformation as well as managing director roles for large outsource contracts/business divisions. During this time he has worked in a range of sectors including government, energy and utilities, retail, telco and commercial real estate.
Ben’s climate epiphany in 2019 (aged 49) led him to decarbonise his lifestyle and quit his UK Board role in 2020 at JLL, the world’s largest corporate real estate business. Since then he has chosen to dedicate his time in service of life, in particular working with businesses to raise awareness of/accelerate their plans to tackle, the climate, ecological, social crisis. He is a Director of Business Declares and Fashion Declares, mentor for green start-up businesses for the Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership, non Executive Director for GreenTech Global, chair of the board for UK for Good, and advisor to a UK local government body - Warrington Borough Council’s Climate Emergency Commission. He is an advocate of degrowth, deliberative democracy and member of the leaders for global assemblies campaign. He has campaigned locally for the CEE bill, has been involved in non-violent direct action and recently mobilised the biggest ever business gathering at a climate protest (350 business leaders at The Big One). .
