With over 15 years of environmental finance experience, Matthew is a Managing Partner at Posaidon Capital – a capital markets and asset management business structuring institutional financial products delivering positive climate, nature and biodiversity impact. Previously at Credit Suisse, he moved to become a Partner at a leading conservation focused asset manager where for six years he advised and structured investments across 27 countries in Africa and Europe. Here he led the first successful intermediary debt issuance from the EIB’s Natural Capital Finance Facility for a European landscape debt fund. Currently working with bank, asset manager and family office clients on investment products including green bonds, thematic public equity funds and bespoke private equity mandates across blue and green sectors. He has lead-authored several thought leadership pieces. Matthew won an Environmental Finance ESG Innovation of the Year Award in 2020 for a co-authored paper with the London School of Economics exploring correlations between sovereign macroeconomic stability and resilient natural capital systems. He currently sits on the Impact Advisory Board of a major Switzerland-headquartered private bank reporting to the CEO as well as other institutional advisory roles.
