Speaker Biography
Kate is joining us from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC), the professional membership body for the UK recruitment industry, and has a background in policy and public affairs for business and membership organisations. Kate is Deputy Chief Executive at the REC and their spokesperson, regularly appearing in the UK media, representing the membership at government meetings, and speaking at conferences to talk about the economy, employment and skills.

Before joining the REC, Kate worked at City & Guilds and the Federation of Awarding Bodies. She worked on several international development projects and firmly believes in how better access to skills can empower every individual.

Kate is also currently Vice President for the World Employment Confederation (Europe), and a non-executive board member for the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative. She has been a trustee for the homeless charity and membership organisation, the House of St Barnabas, a governor for two London further education colleges, and an adviser to a number of external forums including Business in the Community, UNESCO Education for All, Youth Employment UK, and Women in Recruitment.

In 2025, Kate appeared for the third time on the 'powerlist' of the top 100 women working in trade associations.
