Maxfield Weiss is Global Head of Sustainability at CIPS, the global professional body for procurement and supply. He leads CIPS’s global sustainability agenda, working to position procurement and supply as a critical force for sustainable economic transformation and equipping the profession with the standards, capabilities and leadership needed to turn ambition into execution.
His career has been driven by a belief that the world’s biggest environmental and social challenges will ultimately be solved through the economy — by changing the decisions that determine how capital is allocated, what businesses buy and how value is created. At the heart of his work is a simple conviction: Procurement Must Lead. The decisions made by procurement and supply professionals every day have the power to help determine the world inherited by future generations. His work focuses on harnessing that power — making sustainability integral to procurement excellence and translating ambition into the sourcing, supplier and commercial decisions that shape the real economy.
Maxfield holds a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and dual Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
