Planned London Underground strikes on 24 and 25 March

You’ll find the Business Design Centre right in the beating heart of Islington, with excellent connections to Central London and national transport hubs.

There are currently planned London Underground strikes on 24 and 25 March, which may affect some Tube services. The good news is that the Business Design Centre, remains easy to reach using a variety of sustainable travel options, including buses, walking, cycling, and rail connections - and many of these routes are reliable and low-carbon! 

Public Transport

You can easily reach the Business Design Centre via London Overground services and we’re a short walk from National Rail stations at Kings Cross and St Pancras International.

Nearby rail connections include:

  • Highbury & Islington
    Suggested route:
    Take a bus towards Angel (routes such as the 4, 19 or 30) and get off near Angel. From there it’s a short 4-minute walk to the Business Design Centre.(Approximate journey time: 15 minutes)

 

  • King's Cross Station / St Pancras International
    Suggested route:
    The venue is an easy 20-minute walk from the stations. Exit towards Pentonville Road and walk east towards Angel and Upper Street. (Approximate journey time: 20 minutes walking)

 

  • London Bridge Station
    Suggested route:
    Take a direct bus towards Angel / Islington (for example routes 43 or 141) and get off near Angel. The Business Design Centre is just a few minutes’ walk from the stop. (Approximate journey time: 25–30 minutes)

 

  • Liverpool Street Station
    Suggested route:
    Take a bus towards Angel or Islington (such as the 21 or 76) and walk the final few minutes to the venue from Angel. (Approximate journey time: 25–30 minutes)

 

Walking

If you're arriving into central London, walking the final stretch is often the quickest and most sustainable option.

Approximate walking times:

  • From King's Cross Station - 20 minutes.
  • From St Pancras International - 20 minutes.

Cycling

If you choose to cycle to the BDC, a free cycle storage in the BDC on-site car park is available. You can also rent Santander bikes from several hire stations in the Islington area or try an e-bike from Lime, which are widely available.

Using Lime bikes is simple:

  • Download the Lime app here.
  • Use the map to find a nearby bike.
  • Scan the QR code to unlock it.
  • Ride to the venue.
  • Park responsibly and end the ride in the app.

Lime bikes provide electric pedal assistance, making longer journeys easier and opening up cycling to more people.

 

Driving, Car Sharing and Parking

It’s easy to reach the BDC by car - and although it's a stone’s throw from Central London, and is NOT in the Congestion Charge zone.
